Jewellery, gold and diamonds were not on the radar of 19-year-old Ashley Portas, but after taking over the rights to a courier run in the Brisbane CBD, he was thrown into a fascinating world of gemstones and scintillation. From Ipswich delivery boy to diamond merchant and founder of the premier Brisbane engagement ring jeweller Diamondport, Ashley has earned an exceptional reputation for delivering the WOW behind so many couple’s happily ever after.

Do I need to book a consultation?

We do recommend booking a consultation with us to ensure that we can make the most of your time while you're here in our Brisbane office. We can organise a carpark for you and will ensure that we have a consultant ready to begin creating your dream rings.

If you do happen to pop in though, we will do our best to fit you in!

Where is your office located?

Our office is located in Queen Street Mall, Brisbane.

Our address is Suite 402, Level 4, 180 Queen Street in the old Country Road Building. Walk up the stairs and enter the glass doors on the left side - then proceed to take the lift up to level 4.

How do I book a consultation?

My partner and I met up with Ashley with a compilation of bits and pieces of what I liked from multiple ring stores. The customised end product exceeded my expectations. Ashley took onboard all of the aspects I wanted and elevated them. We would recommend Ashely and his team++ There's a post engagement appointment, to check for fit and educate on diamond care. I thought this was a lovely touch. Looking forward to returning in a few months to discuss getting our wedding bands made.

Once I finally came down from the high of being engaged, he told me the amazing team that helped him make my ring a reality and a few weeks later we were able to meet the Diamond Port team in person and GOSH are they amazing! Hi there - would love some tips on choosing an engagement ring for my partner. I want to surprise her with something she'll love. What's the best way to work out what will suit her without giving it away? All tips welcome!

Tips: I would also look at the current jewellery she loves to wear to choose the gold colour whether white, yellow or rose gold. For diamond shape, does she prefer sharper corner designs or flowing curved designs? That may help you choose between say a round cut diamond or maybe a princess cut diamond. Or maybe she loves colour and you go with a fancy coloured Sapphire.
