Everything you need to know about creating a Wishing Well

General

Yes, we only provide an online wishing well service.

An online wishing well gives you and your guests more flexibility when it comes to gift time. You can set up different funds for your guests to see what they are contributing to. It also saves you the hassle of trying to bring gift cards and bulky presents home after the wedding reception. A physical wishing well may be a box for people to put envelopes or money in. Not only does this make it easier for your guests who forget their gift for you, but it’s also an unsecure method of payment.

Privacy

Yes, you do. As a member you'll get all the access to create and customise your online wishing well as well as access to our free wedding planning tools.

Absolutely not. We respect your privacy and will keep your information within the Easy Weddings vault. You can read our privacy policy and terms and conditions here.

Of course! We use Westpac Bank's secure payment system so you and your guests don't need to worry. Your details bypass our systems and go straight through to the bank. We also don't store any data that you don't specifically give to us.

Getting Started

You can start setting up your wedding wishing well at any time. Most couples have their wishing well set up completely by the time invitations or their wedding website are sent to guests.

Once you have set up your Easy Weddings account, choose My Gift Registry from the navigation and follow the steps!

When a guest contributes to your wishing well, they are charged 2.95% on top of their contribution. There is also a one-time processing fee of 3.95% of the total contributed amount when you close off your Wishing Well. These fees cover credit card processing and admin fees.

You can choose to see who does, or keep it a secret via your Easy Weddings account settings. Select the ‘Account’ tab on your dashboard, and choose Registry Settings from the navigation.

You will need to close off your wishing well, via the settings on your Dashboard. Choosing 'My Gift Registry' from your Account Settings, then click the 'Contribution: View Details' on one of your created Wishing Wells, then click 'Close & Cash Out' on the dashboard.

Once you have done this, the team will receive a notification.

At this point, you will receive an email response directly from the team, where we will then request your bank details.
Once you have confirmed your details, it will be passed onto our accounts team and processed via a direct bank transfer to you.
You will receive your money within 5-10 working days.

For guests

Privacy

No. Only the couple will be able to see what you have contributed (unless they have chosen for it to remain anonymous). Guests will be able to see how much has been contributed to each fund but not where those contributions have come from.

Contributions

Of course! Bank charges and conversion fees may apply, depending on your bank.

You can contribute to a wishing well securely online with a VISA or Mastercard.

When you contribute to a wishing well, you are charged a 2.95% credit card processing fee.

Wishing Well contributions will appear as Easy Weddings Pty Ltd.

You will receive a tax invoice and order summary to the email address that you provide.

No stress! If you believe your credit card has been charged twice, you will need to wait until the charges are no longer pending. It is possible your bank may reject the second charge as they recognise that it is a duplicate.

If your bank still charges you, kindly send us through the screenshot of the payments to accounts@easyweddings.com.au, along with your bank account details and we will refund this straight to you.
You will receive your money within 5-10 working days.
